this morning the Straits Time published an article regarding iran's response over the film "300"
hmmm, the overview of the article is tat the president of iran, Mr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is accusing the West of waging psycohological warfare against his country and Mr Mahmoud said " they are trying to tamper with history by making a film and by making Iran's image look savage"
well, i can understand why iranian are upset as the film "300" did show the "not so good side" of persia - the ancestors of mondern-day iranians... but the film also did show the "not so good side" of sparta, at least in my opinion....
there were spartans religious pple living high up the mountains... they were protrayed to be pple who see only beautiful ladies/sex and money... they are always asking for rewards in return for seeking favour from the gods.... i believe that is not wad we see our religious pple rite?
yes of course.. it was just a small part of the whole film tat the spartans religious pple were filmed.. the big picture is tat the war between 300 spartans who took up a strategic position, (and if i m not wrong, the place is called the fire gates, ) to prevent from Persia from invading Greece... the 300 spartans eventually were defeated, but they held hundreds of thousands of Persian soldiers for 3 days from invading Greece...
wad i want to say its tat i believe the purpose of this film is not to wage a war against Iran.. its more of a show and to remember this military example of using brains than numbers in war... and remember how bravely 300 Spartans fought for their country... the film is not to degrade or launching a personal attack against anyone or any country...
its a show, take it with a pinch of salt... imagine this - ur king says " have a hearty breakfast, as tonight , we dine in hell !!! ".. but won't u wonder how much food can u garner from the mountains? i dun see many wolves or any living animals for them to eat... i reallie wonder what they eat for that 3 days...... so, in my opinion , its more of a show...
